What a surprise! The talk of the town these last couple weeks was the warm weather and the early blooming of the cherry blossoms down on the Tidal Basin. Having not seen them for years because of school, this year they were a must see for me.
Even Metro's excited!
Friday was the last nice day to see the blossoms before the weekend storms, so there were a ton of people out and about. (Notice the number of cameras out and people posing.)
What's awesome is that this year is the 100th anniversary of these trees being sent to Washington from Japan. It's amazing that they've been here for so long -- just think of the history attached to them!
